Our Student Ministry is for those in grades 6-12. At this critical, memorable time of life, kids need godly role models and peers both!
Our passion is to empower our students to develop lives centered around the Word of God, to develop close relationships, and to live in service to God and others. Our meetings are called The Core, and we meet on Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons.
In addition to The Core, we also sponsor additional Student Ministry events and gatherings. For instance, periodically, Student Ministry Leaders conduct free workshops on a Saturday, teaching various skills — from videography to drones to cooking to beauty care. We also attend several events together yearly, such as Winter Jam, along with local concerts and seminars.
Our students are also encouraged to serve and to give. Many are regular volunteers in Children’s Ministry and help out around the church in many other ministries.
Come join us; getting involved WILL empower your life!
The CORE exists to give our students a safe place to have fun and grow in God. Each week, students are encouraged to pursue God from their hearts through lively praise and worship and teachings that strengthen them spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. But there’s also time for lots of fun with food, cool music, video games, group games, and other fun activities.
Meeting times are as follows:
- Wednesdays at 7:00 pm — Meeting in the Student Room (or Fellowship Hall).
- Sundays at 4:00 – 7:00 pm — Come and bring a friend!
The CORE Vision Statement:
“To experience God’s love and share it with others”
The CORE verse:
“Jesus replied, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-39
Our Student Pastor Cameron Peedin was born and raised locally, in church and by loving parents. When he was 19, he truly gave his heart to Jesus.
As a teenager while attending Ski Invasion, his youth pastor prophesied that Cameron himself would be a Student Pastor one day. The prophecy confirmed what was already in young Cameron’s heart!
Cameron and his wife Lyndi were married in 2007; shortly afterward, they began attending here, which was Lyndi’s former church. At the time, Cameron was burned out and discouraged. So his first six months were spent soaking up the Word of God under Pastor Mitch’s teaching, all of which served to renew his relationship with God and to ignite a new passion for Him inside this young man.
In December 2008, Cameron became our full-time Youth Pastor and was ordained into ministry. At the time, he brought with him eight years of experience working with youth and had earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theology.
Cameron and Lyndi have one daughter, Avalyn. Asked what he is passionate about, he replies, “a relationship with Jesus, my wife Lyndi, and my little girl Avalyn. They are my life!”
Cameron enjoys playing drums, basketball, and video games. He also loves mentoring students: helping them fall in love with their Creator and teaching them how to have a personal relationship with Jesus.
Pastor Cameron’s vision for Student Ministry: To experience God’s love and share it with others. He desires for our students to experience God’s love through a relationship with Jesus and adds, “Once they have experienced God’s love, I don’t want them to just hold on to it, but share it with their sphere of influence.”
