Romans 8:5-6 (NLT)

 

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature THINK about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit THINK about things that please the Spirit. (6) So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

 

COMMENTS:

We can easily locate ourselves by what we are thinking about. Are my thoughts centered upon myself, pleasing me? Or am I thinking about how to please the love of my heart, my Father? My soul (mind, will, emotions) determines whether I am leaning toward the desires of my body or the desires of my spirit. What I THINK about eventually controls what I want, which controls what I do. Let’s challenge ourselves today to continually evaluate our thoughts and set them on the Lord.
